Add files using the visual interface
You can add files that are in one of the file repositories on the Seven Bridges Platform using the following steps:
Accessing the file picker from a project
- Navigate to the project you want to copy files to.
- Click the Files tab.
- Click Add Files and select the repository you want to copy the files from. The following repositories are available:
- Public files - copy one or more of the available public files to your project.
- Projects - copy files from your other projects
- Your computer - upload files from your computer
- FTP/HTTP - import files from a HTTP/FTP server
- Data Tools - access the the Data Tools page where you can download tools for uploading large amount of files (SB CLI, SBFS)
- Volumes - import files from a volume
Add a public file
- Navigate to the project you want to copy files to.
- Click the Files tab.
- Click Add Files and select Public Files.
- Select the files you want to copy.
- Click Copy to Project.
- Click Copy once again to confirm.
The public files are added to your project.
Add a file from another project
- Navigate to the project you want to copy files to.
- Click the Files tab.
- Click Add Files and select Projects.
- The list of all of your projects is available on the left. Click the project you want to copy the files from.
- Select the files you want to copy.
- Click Copy to Project.
- Click Copy once again to confirm.
Your files are copied from another project.
Upload a file from your computer
- Navigate to the project you want to copy files to.
- Click the Files tab.
- Click Add Files and select Your Computer.
- Click Browse files and select the files you want to upload to your project.
- Click Start upload.
The files are uploaded to your project.
Import a file from your volume
- Navigate to the project you want to copy files to.
- Click the Files tab.
- Click Add Files and select Volumes.
- The list of all of the connected volumes is available on the left. Click the volume you want to copy the files from.
- Select the files you want to copy.
6 . Click Import to project.
The files are imported from your volume.
Searching for a file
Once you have accessed a file repository, you can search for specific files using the search field. You can also filter the repository by file type. As shown in the example below, filtering for FASTA files in Public files produces all available results.
Copying files to a project
To add files to a project:
- Select the checkbox next to file(s) you wish to copy, as shown below.
- Click Copy to Project.
- (Optional) Tag your file(s).
- Click Copy to confirm copying the file(s) to your project.
