Supported Nextflow Executor Versions

The Seven Bridges Platform supports major Nextflow Executor releases from 22.04 onwards. The executor version is the version of Nextflow that runs your app on the Platform. If your app does not specify one, version 23.04.1 is used.

Supported versions

Each release line below is supported for every patch release in the listed range. Use the full version number, without the v prefix, when you specify it (for example, 24.10.8).

Unsupported versions. The platform does not support some of the released Nextflow executors.

Specify the executor version for your app

If your app needs a specific Nextflow executor version, set it when you upload the app with sbpack_nf. How you set it depends on whether you push the app with an sb_nextflow_schema file.

During initial app conversion

Add the --executor-version argument to the initial conversion command. Make sure you have the latest version of sbpack (pip install --upgrade sbpack).

sbpack_nf --profile PROFILE --appid APPID --workflow-path WORKFLOW_PATH --entrypoint main.nf --executor-version 24.10.8

The version is saved to the executor_version key of the generated sb_nextflow_schema.yaml file.

When pushing an optimized app configuration

When you push an optimized app configuration with --sb-schema, the executor version is read from the schema file. Any --executor-version value on the command line is ignored. Set the version in the app_content section of sb_nextflow_schema.yaml:

Then push the app

sbpack_nf --profile PROFILE --appid APPID --workflow-path WORKFLOW_PATH --sb-schema SB_SCHEMA

Each push creates a new revision of the app that uses the specified executor version.
